The (surprising) 12 week ultrasound

My baby app and two baby enewsletters (BabyCenter, because shit is serious, and Pregnant Chicken, because shit is funny) like to tell me what's going on with the baby each week. What it measures, what it's growing, what big developments are happening, etc.

For week 12, everything kept telling me that the baby was growing fingernails, but I think they should have led with "YOUR BABY HAS A FUCKING FACE NOW."

I mean, right?

That's my 12-week ultrasound and I was not prepared to see that. But there it is. My baby has a little gremlin face. Big, big change from the potato-looking thing in week 8. When did that even HAPPEN?
